The international conference NanoOstrava 2025 took place from 19 to 22 May 2025 in the Assembly Hall (Aula) of VSB-TUO in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The event was organised by the Nanotechnology Centre (CEET, VSB-TUO) in cooperation with the Institute of Geonics of the CAS (ÚGN) and the Czech National Clay Group. The topics of the conference strongly reflected the key visions of two major projects, REFRESH and MATUR, in which the Nanotechnology Centre was actively involved, aimed at developing sustainable technologies, materials research, and strengthening scientific excellence in the region.
The scientific programme of the conference was divided into four main themes:
- Advanced Nanostructured Materials and Innovative Technologies
- Materials and Technology for Environment
- Instrumentation-Driven Design and Characterisation of Materials
- Materials for Energy Harvesting and Storage Technologies
Among the invited lecturers, a number of leading domestic and international experts presented their work. Speakers included Tuğrul Çetinkaya and Hatem Akbulut from Sakarya University, Turkey, Pavla Čapková from J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Aristeidis Bakandritsos, Indrajit Ghosh, and Petr Praus from VSB-TUO, as well as Robert Kosydar from the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. The social evening also featured a performance by the Bystrzyca folklore ensemble.
