The sixth edition of the international conference NanoOstrava 2019 (6th Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology Meeting) took place from 13 to 16 May 2019 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The event was organised by the Nanotechnology Centre of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava in cooperation with the Institute of Geonics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The conference chair was Prof. Jaromír Pištora.

The scientific programme focused on the research, synthesis, characterisation, and application of nanomaterials across a wide range of fields. The topics were divided into the following main themes:

  • Advanced Nanomaterials
  • Nanomaterials Characterisations and Devices
  • Nanotech for Energy
  • Nanotech for Medicine and Pharmacy
  • Nanotech for Environment Solution
  • Industrial Forum

The invited lecturers included prominent domestic and international experts, such as Dr Frank DelRio from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, USA), Prof. Dr Hatem Akbulut from Sakarya University in Turkey, and Prof. Jaroslav Šesták from the New Technologies – Research Centre at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.

Subject to passing a rigorous peer-review process, the conference papers were published in the scientific journal Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (JNN) by American Scientific Publishers. The event also featured an accompanying social programme.
